Hi everybody (Taylor Williamson style!!!). Sorry for the late post.. What a week it has been in the world of technology Right?
Looks like Apple dominates the week. Wow! who saw that coming?

Apple unveils new iPad Air

On October, 22nd, Apple announced the new iPad Air  at the company's annual unveiling event in San Francisco. Thinner, lighter and more powerful, Apple's fifth generation iPad with Retina Display packs some design and performance enhancements. The new iPad weighs just one pound, a significant improvement on its 1.44 pound ancestor. It also measures an extremely thin 7.5 millimeters, as opposed to the predecessor's 9.4mm depth. The iPad Air has the same 64 bit A7 chip as the iPhone 5S which according to apple makes it considerably faster.

iPad mini 2

Apple also unveiled the iPad mini 2 at the event on Tuesday. The  iPad mini 2's design looks similar to the original iPad mini but is equipped with a faster chip and finally has the retina display. As you'd expect from an iPad Retina display it has 2048x1536 pixels. That's a quadrupling of the original iPad mini's resolution, and as it's the same 7.9-inch size as before, that equates to a healthy pixel density of 326ppi.It also packs the same 64bit A7 chip as the iPad Air with storage capacities ranging from 16GB to 128GB.Apple says, the new dual-antenna Wi-Fi and support for MIMO doubles the theoretical transfer speed compared to the original iPad mini (300Mbps versus 150Mbps).here's no major change in the camera department, with a 5Mp iSight snapper on the rear (capable of 1080p video) and an improved FaceTime HD webcam on the front.
The iPad Air ships November 1 in space gray and black, and silver and white colors starting at $499 for WiFi. 16GB and the iPad mini 2 will be available later in  November starting at $399 for the WiFi, 16GB version.Read more here.I am definitely getting myself the iPad mini 2 once it becomes available and i can find my money(sigh).

New Macbooks Released

Apple’s lineup of workstation laptops was refreshed also at the event, with a handful of updates focused on speed. The 13-inch Macbook Pro is lighter at 3.46 pounds, thinner at 0.71 inches, and quicker as well: It runs on a 4th-generation dual-core Haswell chip from Intel, and its graphics run up to 90 percent faster than the previous generation. It’s also cheaper, starting at $1,299 instead of the $1,399 that its predecessor cost. The notebook gets up to nine hours of battery life, Apple says, and includes improved flash storage, Wi-Fi, and Thunderbolt 2.The 15-inch Macbook Pro on the other hand  uses Intel’s Crystalwell chip, with improved graphics performance and up to eight hours of battery life.

BBM for Android and iPhone finally available

Okay, enough of the apples already, right? Time for banana. What? no banana? (sigh).
Finally; BlackBerry's(oh! what do you know? another fruit) world-famous BBM application is  now available for Apple’s iPhone and Android devices but there is a wait list. Upon opening the app, you'll have to enter an email address to reserve your spot. Anyone that signed up for information about the mobile apps at BBM.com won't have to wait, but new signups will have to deal with the virtual queue.

Wow! that was a bit more fruity than i expected. Till next week.
