The Samsung Galaxy S line of smartphones is probably the industry’s most successful, but could Samsung finally be ‘steeling’ themselves? Word on the street is that Samsung have a new line of premium Galaxy smartphones in the pipeline: the Galaxy F series. Samsung have long since been criticized for packing a lot of horse power into externals that didn’t feel quite as premium.

The Galaxy F line is believed to be Samsung’s (albeit overdue if true) answer to the solid, metallic build of its Galaxy S line’s main contenders. HTC, Sony and Apple’s flagship smartphones of the past few years have boasted not only the high-end components and impeccable design of their Galaxy S counterparts, but also sturdy, premium-feeling build quality - an area where Samsung have seeming all but refused to compete.

There has been talk of Samsung shopping for materials for their upcoming flagship phone, which is believed to be the Galaxy S5 but could as well be for the first of its Galaxy F line. The Galaxy Fs would replace the Ss as Samsung’s highest-end smartphones, with the Ss becoming more like Samsung’s Iphone 5Cs.

Rumoured specifications include curved high resolution displays, eight-core processors as standard, high resolution (between 13 to 16 megapixel) camera with advanced image stabilization features and the premium, metallic unibody design that would probably ultimately set Galaxy F smartphones apart from their Galaxy S siblings.

Do you think introducing a new line is the right move for Samsung, or would you rather they kept the S series atop their smartphone mountain and focus on making better externals for it? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below
